Tiana Perez is originally from San Diego, CA. She received her Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and in 2019 became a California Licensed Architect. She moved to Fresno in 2008, where she currently resides with her wife, Lynda Wilkinson and their three dogs.
Shortly after arriving in the Central Valley, Tiana created a lesbian social group known today as “the Fresbians.” Tiana and the Fresbians have been active members of the LGBTQ+ community since 2009 and have volunteered with numerous groups and organizations. The Fresbians have been long-time volunteers for Fresno Reel Pride Film Festival. In 2012 Tiana started handing out pink Fresbian neckties to folks who volunteered at Reel Pride on behalf of the Fresbians. It then became an annual tradition to distribute pink ties with the Fresbians logo to volunteers and film cast and crew members.
Tiana, along with the mastermind guidance of Anthony Ash, created SheBar in February of 2013. SheBar was a lesbian bar event and featured themed Drag King shows, lesbian bands, and lesbian entertainers. The event ran once a month until the bar (North Tower Circle) closed its doors in November of 2014. In 2015, Tiana was selected as a Fresno Rainbow Pride Grand Marshal. She walked the 2015 parade with the Fresbians, behind a U-Haul truck, carrying moving boxes with the Fresbian logo. In 2016, Fresno Pride Lions Club presented Tiana and her wife, Lynda, with the Community Service Award.
Today, The Fresbians continue to host virtual coffee gatherings with a hope to return to in-person meetings once pandemic life subsides. Tiana’s hope is that the Fresbians will always remain “Fresno’s Friendly Neighborhood Lesbians” as they continue to provide informal, non-bar gatherings that provide a safe place for folks to casually meet in an environment that promotes conversation and allows the Fresbians to provide resources and recommendations for folks trying to find their circle within the community.
